Abstract
Fifty-one patients underwent total palpebral dacryoadenectomy and good results were obtained in 19 of the 33 cases adequately followed. The only complication was the occurrence of very mild relative xerophthalmia in one patient. Excision of the palpebral lobe of the lacrimal gland does not ordinarily result in total ablation of its secretion. The procedure helpedin case of lacrimal hypersecretion, defects in thelacrimal excretory system, or a combination of both.
