Overestimation of the degradation state in fatigue loaded tendon due to transient effects

Abstract

The degradation state in fatigue loaded tendon due to transient effects was studied. Results showed that the magnitude of stiffness loss was overestimated by as much as 20% if transient effects were not allowed to dissipate. The magnitude of recovery did not appear to change with the duration of the recovery period.
