Abstract
Intestinal transplantation is emerging as the standard of care for patients with intestinal failure who fail total parenteral nutrition due to the onset of life-threatening complications. This paper discusses the indications, patient selection, allograft selection, peri- and post-operative management, complications and outcomes following transplantation, in patients with intestinal failure.
