Abstract
We show that energy-momentum-conservation effects strongly influence the multiplicity distribution, as it is observed in e+e-hadrons over the full rapidity range. Once these effects are removed, a Koba-Nielsen-Olesen scaling function corresponding to the independent superposition of a small number of geometric cascades is consistent with the data. We predict the multiplicity distribution in the central rapidity region, and speculate on its energy dependence.
