Abstract

Ocular toxoplasmosis is a common cause of posterior uveitis and chorioretinitis throughout the world. Despite its prevalence, pathogenesis of ocular toxoplasmosis is not well understood, nor is there consensus as to the best treatment. This chapter reviews the clinical features and epidemiology of ocular toxoplasmosis, our current understanding of disease pathogenesis as gleaned from experimental models and clinical research, as well as diagnosis and clinical management of ocular toxoplasmosis.
