Abstract

Myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) represent a heterogeneous group of myeloid neoplasms characterized by abnormal differentiation and maturation of myeloid cells, ineffective hematopoiesis, and increased risk of transformation to AML. Peripheral blood cytopenias are common, with most patients having multilineage cytopenias.
