Abstract

Revertant clones of murine sarcoma virus transformed nonproducer BALB/3T3 cells have been isolated by selection of iododeoxyuridine-resistant colonies in methylcellulose. Each revertant contained a rescuable sarcoma virus but demonstrated both in vitro and in vivo biologic properties of nontransformed BALB/3T3 cells. Further, each clone was highly susceptible to retransformation by added sarcoma virus. The evidence indicates that these lines comprise a new class of morphologic revertants of murine sarcoma virus transformed cells.
