Abstract
Based on the research of contact theory, a new contact model between the metal elastic wheel and rigid ground was proposed. In modeling process, the elastic characteristics between rim and outside-wheel were considered and the friction solution algorithm under slip and stick conditions was developed. According to the subroutine interfaces, the contact model was embedded in ADAMS software. The simulation results show that this model can simulate the contact relations between metal elastic wheel and rigid ground and has high accuracy. It overcomes the defects of the contact model in ADAMS.
