Abstract

Antidepressants can be vital and restorative treatment for elders who suffer from major depression. Major depression can be a tricky diagnosis and there is a tendency towards overinclusiveness in its diagnosis. Overuse of the depression diagnosis can lead to ignoring key aspects of the patient's presentation and inappropriate treatment.
