Lichen planus

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceeding › Chapter › peer-review

Abstract

The treatment of lichen planus is challenging. For localized disease, topical corticosteroids and intralesional corticosteroids may be helpful, but when more extensive, second-line therapies include antimicrobials such as oral metronidazole, immunosuppressive agents like oral sulfasalazine, oral or injected corticosteroids, and methotrexate. For those who fail the above treatments, there is a long list of third-line therapeutic options.
