Abstract
Praxic disorders are a relatively frequent reason for consultations in child psychiatry on account notably of their impact on development of basic skills. In order to evaluate and understand such disorders, an approach which is both developmental and integrative, which takes into account the cognitive, linguistic and affective dimensions inherent in the global functioning of a child interacting with his familial, social and particularly educational environment, is necessary. The diversity of forms of dyspraxic disorders and the polymorphism of their clinical manifestations encountered requires the implementation of a pluridisciplinary collaboration. This approach seems to present a paradigme of the functionning of a psychiatrist who must integrate in his knowledge and practice, along with psychodynamic theory, the contributions of cognitive psychology, linguistics and genetics.
