Abstract
This paper reports the side pumped Nd:YAG CW red laser radiation at 659.5 nm by intracavity frequency-doubling with a KTP crystal (type II phase match, θ=59.9°, Φ=0°). The effect of thermal lens relevant to the laser crystal is analyzed and parameters of the three-mirror folded cavity are optimized. To realize the oscillation of single wavelength of 1319 nm in Nd:YAG, the reflectivities of mirrors of the resonator are designed, which also lead to the achievement of single wavelength of SHG. The generation of 1.2 W of the CW red laser beam is obtained with 13 A pumped current and a output mirror of 200 mm curvature radius.
