Abstract
A high power LD-pumped Nd:YAG/KTP Q-CW red laser was presented. Using a KTP crystal (type I phase-matching, θ = 59.9°, φ = 0°), the red beam was obtained by intracavity frequency-doubling the output wavelengths of Nd: YAG near 1.3 μm. The LD pump module used in this experiment is domestic-made, comprised a φ5 mm × 125 mm Nd:YAG rod side-pumped by thirty 20 W LDs of a triangle radial geometry. For obtaining high power SHG output, we employed a V-folded laser cavity and a acousto-optic Q switch. The highest power of 12 W of Q-CW red laser was obtained with a 470 W pumping power of LD. The curve of power and spectrum of red beam were given in the paper.
