Abstract
Since the mid-1990s, laser hair removal has become one of the most commonly performed cosmetic procedures. We will review basic laser biophysics and studies evaluating the efficacy and safety of the 5 lasers most commonly used for hair removal: the long-pulsed ruby, long-pulsed alexandrite, pulsed diode, and Q-switched and long-pulsed Nd-YAG.
