Abstract

An on-line monitoring system was developed to real-timely and accurately measure oxygen concentrations in coke-oven gas to avoid explosion. A weak signal preprocessing unit and an ultra-low-power micro controller unit, MSP430, were used to construct the signal processing system, with a 3.6 V explosion-proof power supply made using current-limiting resistance and epoxy resin filling techniques and with the overall circuit parameters carefully controlled, which insures the system intrinsic safety ranked Ex ia and safe, steady performance in the industrial zone 0. The results of authentication tests and field experiments show that the system meets the practical requirements of coking fields with a precision of ± 0.8%.
