Abstract

Spasticity and chronic pain are incapacitating conditions that result from various pathologies. Treatment and decreasing disability from spasticity and chronic pain remain a challenge. Intrathecal delivery of antispasmodics and narcotic pain medications through a controlled pump delivery system can significantly improve the quality of life of these patients. In this chapter, spasticity and chronic intractable pain syndromes etiology, diagnosis, treatments, and delivery of those treatments are discussed.
