Abstract

Recognition of the syndrome of intestinal angina is important in view of the paucity of cases described in the literature and the excellent results that may be obtained by proper diagnosis and surgical intervention. Improved radiologic techniques and the development of sophisticated tests for evaluating intestinal absorption have added immeasurably to both diagnostic acuity and postoperative evaluation. A clinical case of intestinal angina is diagnosed preoperatively and successfully revascularized utilizing a prosthetic bypass graft.
