Abstract

Purpose: The present study examined the effects of providing cognitively intact nursing home residents with music of their own choosing on immediate satisfaction and global quality of life. Method and Design: The design was a pre- and post-test intervention study. Nursing home residents were presented with music of their own choosing and asked to respond to questions concerning their previous music experience, their enjoyment of the music presentation, and their overall quality of life.
