Abstract

A prospective study in the region Nord-Pas-de-Calais between 1 February and 15 November 1988 identified 166 cases of Crohn's disease, 116 of ulcerative colitis, and 31 of proctitis. The incidence of ulcerative colitis was 2.96 cases/105/year and of Crohn's disease, 4.23/105/year.
