Abstract

We agree with Dr Kurz that extensive testing is not a substitute for a good history and physical examination. The article stresses the occurrence of lymphoma as a sometimes-overlooked cause of unilateral leg edema. The good clinical judgment of modern house officers, we hope, will make Dr Kurz' fears that it will lead to extensive unnecessary work-ups unfounded.
