Abstract
Flu-like symptoms and injection site reactions are adverse effects of treatment with interferon β-lb in patients with MS. We compared gradual dose escalation, ibuprofen treatment, or their combination in an open-label study. The combination reduced the incidence of flu-like symptoms to rates comparable with the placebo group in the pivotal trial but increased the frequency of injection site reactions, albeit modestly and transiently.
