Abstract
Recently researchers have documented the effectiveness of the α2-adrenergic agonist, clonidine, in eliminating objective signs and subjective symptoms of heroin and methadone withdrawal. The following is the first report of the use of clonidine to detoxify an iatrogenic opiate addiction secondary to chronic pain.
