Abstract
We recently saw a patient with primary hyperparathyroidism in whom four hyperplastic parathyroid glands were identified at neck exploration. A pedunculated thyroid adenoma incidentally removed during the procedure was found to contain a fifth hyperplastic parathyroid gland.
