Abstract
Almost every known hormone has been tried on patients with mental disorder, but so far few have shown any significant positive effect. Nevertheless, the evidence continues to grow that hormones do modulate brain functions and influence behavior. This review briefly summarizes many investigations, the rationales for the use of the various hormones, and the extent to which each has been of help.
