Abstract

A question and answer session presented at the NPRA Conference (1997) on coking (optimization) covers changes in coke yield, liquid yield, and liquid distribution that can be expected when revamping delayed cokers to lower coke drum pressure; viscosity grade silicone antifoam; carrier oils (HCGO or LCGO) that refiners are using to control foam formation in coke drums; experience with grid/structured packing in coker fractionation; and the lower limit in coker cycle times.
