Abstract

At a neighborhood picnic get-together last weekend, I spotted a crying baby in her mother’s arms. Her mother was bouncing her 20-month, year-old precious one, gently, up and down, inserting some sways- seemingly unbothered, but all the while wishing her baby would settle.
