Abstract

It is extremely waste for many costly utility software distributed in isolated departments with low utilization rate. To solve this problem, the emerging grid-enable technology was introduced. The requirement and significance of utility software grid-enable technology were analyzed, and the software architecture was studied. Different grid-enable technologies were brought forward for different types of software. Furthermore, job invocation and grid services developed with Application Program Interface (API) provided by the software were studied in detail, then geographical distributed utility software could be organized to be a virtual organization to share their computing power and realize their collaboration.
