Abstract

A method was developed to produce continuous phase FSK signals for railway communication, by modulating the FSK signals using FPGA. The method is based on traditional frequency modulation using integrated logic gate arrays and the fast respond speed of FPGA. The two carrier waves are related by the relative counter, a flip-flop and an electronic switch. The results produced continuous phase FSK signals that ensure the stability and continuity of FSK signals. The local applied relative error ranges were determined theoretically. Experimental tests show that the system worked well.
