Abstract

Classical ballet offers a graceful and beautiful spectacle. This beauty comes at great physical cost to the ballet dancer. It is estimated that up to 95% of dancers employed for greater than 1 year will suffer a significant injury. Most of these physical injuries occur to the foot and ankle. In this chapter we describe the experience of the senior authors and the up-to-date literature findings regarding treatment of foot and ankle pathologies in dancers.
