Abstract

Previous chapters summarized biological and physiological mechanisms of folate and highlighted the critical role of folate in the etiology of human diseases, including cancer. Many of these results have been substantiated by epidemiological studies, which in turn help generate new hypotheses to be tested by experimental studies and, more importantly, aid the translation of laboratory findings into health policies and clinical care.
