Abstract

The synchronized phasor measurement units (PMU) is significant to the wide-area protection and stability control in modern power system. At present, almost all the PMU used in power network of China get synchronous data depending on the GPS developed by USA. In order to ensure the safety of interconnected power network, PMU based on Beidou satellite navigation and position system developed by China is presented, and the feasibility is also discussed.
