Abstract

Chronic type B hepatitis (CAH-B) has proved to be difficult to treat. Recently however, immunotherapies such as interferon (IFN) or recombinant interleukin-2 (rIL-2) have been used in CAH-B patients with the hope of shortening the time until the appearance of HBe antibodies. For judging these therapeutic effects, we studied the ultrastructural dynamics of HB core (HBc) particles of the liver under treatment.
