Abstract
(Neuron 110, 2607–2624.e8; August 17, 2022; Neuron 111, 444; February 1, 2023) We, the editors of Neuron, are publishing this editorial note on this paper published in 2022 (10.1016/j.neuron.2022.06.003), which was previously corrected in 2023 (10.1016/j.neuron.2023.01.008). Following a query from an interested reader, the authors are revising and correcting their analyses further. The correction, now published in this issue (10.1016/j.neuron.2024.06.009), outlines mistakes that occurred because of the use of certain parameters in the analytical pipeline. These errors affected the ranking of differentially expressed genes, as well as the corresponding text and figures, all of which have now been updated. The correction does not impact the main conclusions of the paper. Given the breadth of these changes, expert reviewers assessed the errors and their implications on the initially reported findings. Although we and the reviewers find these mistakes regrettable, we have decided, after thorough discussions based on the information currently available to us, not to take further action. This statement serves to inform the community of the outcome of this process and our decision.
