Abstract

Secretory and membrane proteins traffic from the ER to the Golgi via COPII-coated vesicles that form via the action of five conserved coat proteins. This process is further regulated to respond to cellular and environmental conditions that permit traffic of the large diversity in form and function of cargo molecules.
