Abstract

Herein we discuss the potential roles of otoendoscopy and transcanal endoscopic ear surgery as they apply to the surgical treatment of cholesteatoma. Considerations with respect to advantages and disadvantages over conventional microscopic resection, patient selection, instrumentation, surgical technique, and postoperative care are discussed.
