Abstract
This chapter deals with the case of a 44‐year‐old nulliparous woman with intermenstrual bleeding and irregular cycles, where the biopsy reveals Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics grade 1 endometrioid endometrial carcinoma. It discusses four clinical issues concerning the patient's condition. The first is the evidence for and against (comparison) lymph node dissection (intervention) in relation to prognosis (outcome) in women with low grade endometrial cancer (population). Another point of interest is the evidence regarding minimally invasive surgery (intervention) in relation to adequacy of surgery, quality of life and oncologic outcomes (outcome) in women with endometrial cancer (population). Also of interest is the evidence for and against ovarian removal (intervention) in relation to prognosis (outcome) in premenopausal woman with endometrial cancer (population). The final issue concerns the sensitivity and specificity (test) of immunohistochemical evaluation for mismatch repair proteins in diagnosing Lynch syndrome in premenopausal woman with endometrial cancer (population).
