Abstract

Nonlinear excitation current transformer is usually made of the closed-core, and can not work in the transient process. In most cases, the core is saturated in the transient process, thus, the error of the current transformer is much higher than the allowed voltage. Using a special status in the transient process is appropriate. Actually current transformer has linear characteristics. The high reliability, high stability and high accuracy can not be ensured simultaneously. This paper analyzed the current transformer with the non-magnetic air gap, and presented the advantages and disadvantages.
