Abstract
The reactions of O,O-diethyl chlorophosphate with 3-substituted-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazoles have been carried out in pyridine under an inert atmosphere. The reaction products have been characterised on the basis of elemental analysis and spectral studies. The fungicidal activity of all these derivatives have been evaluated in-vitro against Colletotrichum falcatum (responsible for 'red rot' disease in sugarcane), Fusarium oxysporum (associated with wilt disease) and Curvularia lunata (responsible for leaf spot) at different concentrations. The screening results have been correlated with the structural features of the tested compounds.
