Effect of the Peridex® filter on peritonitis rates in an unselected CAPD population

Abstract

The use of the inline filter in a CAPD population was associated with a low incidence of peritonitis (0.064 infections per patient month). Pre-filter rates of peritonitis indicated that the population was in general a group of 'high risk' patients for peritonitis.
