Effect of lattice topology on geminate recombination

Abstract

The molecular theory of geminate recombination is applied to the simple cubic lattice, and the results compared to those obtained previously for the face-centered cubic lattice. The results demonstrate that, for corresponding molecular parameters, lattice topology is a strong determinant of recombination/dissociation efficiency. The implications of this fact for interpretation of experimental data in terms of the Onsager and other continuum approximations are noted.
