Abstract
Sudden cardiac arrest carries a grave prognosis. The management of car- diac arrest is algorithmic because providers typically have limited knowledge of the patient's past medical history. Peri-resuscitation echocardiography provides an invaluable real-time bedside diagnostic tool that can identify some of the potentially reversible causes of cardiac arrest and can be regarded as analogous to pulse oxim- etry or ECG monitoring.
