Abstract

A new representation is proposed of the sequence of nucleotides in the single-stranded RNA molecule in the form of a complex vector the components of which correspond to the bases in the sequence (direction 5′→3′). Analysis of the proposed formalism allows the authors to predict a new type of reversible conformational transitions of the molecule between different states of secondary structure. These transitions may have the character of oscillations. A possible experimental approach is proposed based on the ESR method for recording and evaluating the kinetic parameters of the structural transitions.
