Abstract
1) Newborns with intolerance of feeds and vomiting may have a congenital obstruction of the duodenum due to atresia or stenosis, a condition strongly associated with Trisomy 21. 2) The hallmark of diagnosis is the double-bubble pattern of gas seen on abdominal radiographs reflecting the stomach and a proximally dilated duodenum. 3) Prognosis after treatment with a duodenoduodenostomy is excellent, with survival rates exceeding 95%.
