Abstract

The characteristics of rectangular surface - relief grating are analyzed with rigorous one order coupled-wave theory. The grating structures are pointed out when both TE mode and TM mode can achieve high diffraction efficiency. Calculation proved: TE mode and TM mode can achieve high diffraction efficiency only when Bragg diffraction occurs. In order to verify the theory and program, the calculated results are compared to the other experiment results in the reference.
