Abstract
Argues that the special issue (S. Scarr, 1979) of the American Psychologist on psychology and children lacks articles on the psychoanalytic (PSA) perspective. However, a content analysis of the references reveals 22 of 42 articles in which psychoanalysts have contributed to the topic; this suggests that the failure to include PSA authors in this issue does not reflect an absence of PSA influence on developmental psychology.
