Abstract

A 50-year-old patient with a history of deep-vein thrombosis is presented with a loss of consciousness lasting for 30 seconds. Immediately following the syncope, he complained of shortness of breath and right-sided chest pain. The patient was tachypneic (28/min) and tachycardic, with a blood pressure of 90/70 mm Hg.
