Abstract

The Cultural Formulation constitutes a distillation of the new cross- cultural psychiatry, designed by the NIMH Culture and Diagnosis Group, and incorporated into DSM-IV as one of its significant innovations. The role of the Cultural Formulation in clinical care, training, and research can be better understood and its impact extended when considered within the framework of a comprehensive diagnostic model.
