Abstract

Cornea overview provides a brief review of the layers of the cornea, the functions of the cornea, and how the cornea maintains its transparency, as well as some common disease processes and surgical interventions. This article presents the basic anatomy and physiology of the cornea and introduce some of the more common corneal diseases and surgical interventions seen and used in clinical practice.
