Abstract

A technique is presented for determining volumetric information from high-resolution orbital computed tomograms. An algorithm has been developed that, without operator intervention, can recognize, extract, and reassemble a three-dimensional model of the human orbit. The algorithm utilizes the image enhancement techniques of spatial and median filtration and contrast histogram equalization and presents an innovative artificial intelligence technique of adaptive filtration and contour tracking on video-graphics files of orbital computed tomograms (CT).
