Abstract

Our tutorial described the basic principles of chest sonography, and provided a review of pulmonary anatomy, ultrasound probe positioning, and a discussion of the most common ultrasound findings (both normal and pathologic). In this chapter, we work through a series of case-based scenarios designed to practice combining patient history and symptom presentation, ECG, and chest sonography interpretation with the overall aim of correctly identifying various pulmonary diagnoses and helping direct appropriate management plans.
